Interior Design Services in Dallas, TX

A Guided Path to the Home You Have Always Wanted.

MTR Home Designs is a full-service interior design studio based in Addison, Texas, serving Dallas and the surrounding DFW metro area.

The home you have been picturing has a feeling to it. Sunday mornings that flow without effort. A living room that draws people in. Bedrooms that feel like a retreat at the end of a long day. That home is not out of reach. It just needs the right guide to get you there.

Most of our clients come to us at a turning point. A new home. A relocation. A space that has never felt right. Maybe the rooms inside never came together. Maybe the new space feels overwhelming. Maybe there is a project you keep putting off because the decisions feel too permanent to get wrong. This is exactly where we come in.

At MTR Home Designs, every service is built around the same belief: your home should be where everything feels right. We offer two ways to work together. Full-Service Interior Design takes the entire project off your plate from start to finish. An Interior Design Consultation gives you focused professional guidance on a specific challenge. Both begin with a conversation and end with a home that feels like yours. Functional and beautiful belong together. We will guide you there.

You are involved where it matters and free from the rest. We bring decisions to you in focused, manageable presentations so you are never overwhelmed and never left out. The clarity you have been looking for, without the full project commitment.

An interior design consultation with MTR Home Designs provides focused, professional guidance on a specific challenge, delivered in writing so you leave with a clear plan you can act on immediately.

Sometimes you do not need someone to take over. You just need the right guidance at the right moment. A single focused session with a professional who understands your space can cut through months of indecision and give you a clear, confident path forward. We listen, assess, and deliver our recommendations in writing so you leave with a plan you can act on immediately. Every consultation is scoped to your specific challenge, defined upfront, and delivered in writing so nothing gets lost after the session ends. A focused session that changes the entire trajectory of your project.

What a consultation can cover:

  • Material selections for new builds and remodels, including flooring, tile, countertops, and finishes
  • Furnishing recommendations and sourcing guidance
  • Room refresh direction and renovation scoping

Every consultation includes:

  • A discovery call to understand your goals, followed by an in-home visit to see your space firsthand

Our Proven Full-Service Interior Design Process

Every full-service project at MTR Home Designs follows the same structured, four-phase process. Each step is designed to guide you forward with clarity and confidence, eliminating surprises, protecting your budget, and keeping everything moving so you always feel informed, confident, and completely in the loop.
1

Discovery

Get to Know You

Step 1: Discovery Call

Before anything else, we schedule a complimentary discovery call. This is a short, no-pressure conversation to hear about your project, share a little about how we work, and make sure we are a good fit before investing more time on either side.

Complimentary. No cost, no commitment.

Step 2: Meet and Greet

If the discovery call feels right, we schedule a complimentary meet and greet. This is a deeper conversation where we listen to your vision, walk through our process in detail, and start to understand what your project needs. This can happen virtually or in person at our Addison studio.

Step 3: In-Home or On-Site Visit

Once we are moving forward, we come to you. For existing homes, we ask detailed questions about what you want to keep, what is not working, and how your family actually uses each room. For new builds, we visit the site to understand the space, the scope, and what needs to be considered before design begins. Then we walk every space carefully, taking measurements, photographing everything, and noting anything that could affect the design down the road. This visit is as much about getting to know you as it is about the space.

Step 4: Mapping Out Your Project

After the on-site visit, we prepare a detailed scope of work that outlines exactly what is included, what will be delivered, and what to expect at every stage. Your design fee is attached to the scope of work and presented at this stage, so you know exactly what you are committing to before anything begins. This is presented to you in writing, so nothing is left to interpretation.

Step 5: Contract & Project Kickoff

Once everything is agreed upon, we meet in our Addison studio to sign the contract and confirm the design fee. This is where your project truly begins. From this point forward, you have a dedicated guide managing every detail on your behalf.

Design

Bringing Ideas to Life

Step 6: Contractor Coordination Begins

Before a single selection is made, we meet with contractors on-site, compile bids, and take precise measurements. This step ensures that every recommendation we make is grounded in the reality of your space and your budget. Nothing is guesswork and nothing is ordered until we know it will work.

Step 7: Curating Your Home

We source furnishings, fabrics, and finishes filtered specifically to your goals and your whole home, both online and in person at the Dallas Market Center and design showrooms. Every piece is considered in the context of every other piece, so your home feels cohesive from room to room.

Step 8: Design Presentation

We present your design in person at our Addison studio, with physical samples including paint colors, wallpaper, fabrics, building materials, and furnishing selections laid out together so you can see how everything works as a whole. We present focused options, so decisions always feel clear, manageable, and aligned with your vision.

Step 9: Design Refinement and Approval

If adjustments are needed, we make them. Once everything comes together and feels right, we move forward. When the design is ready, you will feel it.

3

Coordination

Track Every Detail

Step 10: Everything Ordered and Tracked

Every item is ordered, every lead time is tracked, and a comprehensive list is maintained and updated throughout. If something goes out of stock or a timeline shifts, we contact you directly with a clear alternative and a plan so you are never left waiting for answers.

Step 11: Construction and Renovation (Where Applicable)

Where applicable, we initiate and coordinate all construction and renovation work, serving as the single point of contact between you and every contractor involved. You do not have to manage seven different people. That is our job.

Step 12: Managing Every Order to the Finish Line

We monitor every order through to receipt, conduct site visits, and coordinate with receiving companies who inspect and store all items on your behalf until installation day so everything arrives together.

4

Reveal

The Finishing Touches

Step 13: Installation & Styling

Installation day is one of the most important days of the entire project and we treat it that way. We arrive before the crews do, coordinate the delivery team, window treatment installers, and any remaining contractors, and make sure every piece goes exactly where it belongs. Every item has been inspected, held, and scheduled to arrive together, so nothing is missing and nothing is improvised.

Once everything is in place, the finishing details come together. Accessories, coffee table books, candles, throw blankets, and picture frames are styled to tie every room together. These are the details that make a space feel complete and completely yours.

Step 14: The Reveal

Then comes the moment you have been waiting for. We hand the space back to you and step back to let you take it all in.

Step 15: Post-Move Walkthrough

The project is not finished when the last piece of furniture is placed. It is finished when you have lived in the space, and it still feels exactly right.

Two to four weeks after move-in we return, walk every room with you, and take care of anything that needs attention. Most designers are long gone by this point. We are not. This step is built into every project because how you feel once you have settled in matters just as much to us as the day we handed it over.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between full-service design and a consultation?

Full-service covers your entire project from discovery through installation. We manage every decision, every contractor, and every detail on your behalf. An interior design consultation provides focused professional guidance for a specific challenge, with written recommendations you can act on. Many clients start with a consultation and move into full-service from there.

Not sure which is right for you? That is exactly what we will figure out together in our first conversation.

How much does full-service interior design cost?

Our design fees are a flat fee based on the scope of work, the number of rooms, and the level of complexity. Your fee is prepared and presented in writing after the in-home visit so you know exactly what you are committing to before anything is ordered. No hourly billing. No surprises. The only number that changes is if you choose to add or remove rooms from the scope, and that adjustment is always discussed and agreed upon before anything moves forward.

Interior design consultations are also priced as a flat fee based on the size of the project and level of complexity, established before we begin.

How long does a full-service interior design project take?

The honest answer is that it depends on the scope, but most full-service projects take three to six months from design through installation. Furniture alone can take eight to twelve weeks to arrive, and we factor that in from the start. Your timeline is established together during the discovery phase, so there are no unexpected delays. If something shifts during procurement, you hear about it from us directly, along with a clear plan for how we will handle it.

Can you help me stay on budget?

Yes. Establishing a clear budget framework is part of our discovery process, and we have it in place before any selections are made. If you do not have a number yet, we will help you build one. We also align upfront on whether we are designing to a defined budget or designing toward your ideal vision, so expectations are clear from day one. Our clients tell us consistently that having that conversation early made the whole process feel less stressful.

What does your design style look like?

We design for your lifestyle, not ours. Every project is shaped entirely by the people who live in it. Warm, intentional, and grounded, but always yours. If there is a consistent thread across our work, it is that every space feels personal, because it was built to be.

Do I have to use your contractors?

No. You are welcome to use your own. We do ask for open communication and access, as we serve as the project manager and coordinate all parties on your behalf. We also have a trusted network of wallpaper installers, cabinetry specialists, painters, and flooring professionals we can recommend if needed.

Can an interior design consultation lead to a full-service engagement?

Absolutely. Many clients begin with a consultation to get clarity on a specific challenge and find that the project grows from there. If that happens, we transition seamlessly into full-service, and everything we have already learned about your space and your goals carries forward.

Where are you based, and what areas do you serve?

Our studio is based in Addison, Texas. We serve Dallas and the surrounding metro area, including North Dallas, Plano, Frisco, Prosper, Celina, McKinney, Allen, Southlake, Colleyville, and Fort Worth. We also take on destination and vacation home projects and are happy to travel for the right project.
